Clara Bones Anorexic.

Clara is sleeping next to the pillow that this laptop is resting on. She finally decided to curl next to, instead of on top of, as was her first choice. I had to dissuade her several times by pushing her away or lifting her up and off the pillow. Silly girl.

She had a rough week and a half though, so I've been indulging her all weekend. My mom took her last Friday (two Fridays ago) because I was going to live oak. Clara stopped eating completely within three days, and was only picking at her food once she reached my mom's (this is after she threw up in the car, poor girl(s) - both mom and clara.

She still wasn't eating today. Monday night she was acting super weird. I had come home Monday after being gone all weekend. She had a rough night Monday - I don't think that she slept one bit and I could tell she was kinda coming out of her skin. Just feeling basically yucky. So I called the vet on Tuesday and explained her behavior (I forgot to tell you how she was sleeping in her kitty litter box - in fact refused to come out) and the vet said pls bring her in asap.

[insert relief]

So me and clara went to the vet's. and she stayed for the rest of the week, as I was going to the bay area and I couldn't very well ask a friend or my mom to look after her if she was on the verge of death. The sign next to her kitty pen (kitty jail?)(kitty cell?) said "Clara Bones" - Anorexic. Kitty lost a pound and when you only weight six, one pound is significant body mass.

She started eating again Wednesday night. We are now (following the vets example) nuking clara's food for a full 10 seconds before handing it to her. We are not (not following the vet's example) feeding her off of a tongue depressor.

Girl's gotta draw a line somewhere. I choose the tongue depressor as my new boundary of no-no uh-uh (shaking head).
