i woke up obnoxiously early (that's not obnoxious and early) and wandered out to the kitchen to see if some earlier bird made coffee (alas no).

i'm looking for coffee and contemplating reheating the dredges from last night (oh yes, my laziness knows no bounds) when i hear rustling in the backyard.

there was a big ass raccoon in our koi pond and he was fishing. i think he might have eaten all the koi. :( and he had our biggest one. not that it was that big, but it took us a while to get him to his nicy plump juicy to perfection size. the raccoon was appreciative.

i let him eat that koi but then chased him away with a broom. rzzl frzzl raccoon. now the plants growing in the pond are all thrashed, too. and no fish. boo!

so, i just got back from my workout and was talking to newest housemate, Anna (another from Argentina), about the raccoon.

is he still out there? she asked.

no, i said. he left while it was dark.

well something is living out there.

and i look out the window and see a white, fuzzy back filling up the door in the birdhouse (i mean possum house) which lives above the koi pond.

greaaaaat. vermin.
