Yesterday Steve, Chen and I ventured out to see The Tao of Steve. Run, do not walk, to see this movie. The web site is pretty kickass, too.

Yesterday was a fabulous day, and to be honest I really needed a fabulous day. It'd been a while.

Best parts:

  • Getting stuff done.
I bought a new book called Clear Your Clutter with Feng Shui -- hey -- don't laugh! It's awesome. And it really inspired me to get rid of stuff that I've been leaving hanging. Like old cassette tapes that I never listen to or that I didn't even know what was on them. Also clothes -- I gave a lot of clothes away. Today I'll tackle shoes and this bag of leftover whatevers that I've been neglecting for going on five months. This feels great.

The author of this book (and another called Creating Sacred Spaces, which I also bought), has a pretty good web site. (It could have a nicer design -- out to apply some feng shui theories on their design. In fact -- they should tap into the Tao of Steve design. That site's perty slick.) Check it out.

  • Bike riding.
Just little bike rides, but sometimes that's all that it takes. Best was writing at twilight and going up and off the curbs. Steve was a scaredy and did not make a turn in front of a car -- it was far away. But his apprehension/cautiousness was endearing.

  • Seeing friends from out of town.
Mr. Chen's in from outtatown. I really miss him. Jeremy has two friends visiting, as well. They are awesome. And then Shane is here -- it might be his last weekend visiting for a while. Boo. Note to self: must convince Shane to live in SLO full time. That will never happen. Shane loves his job and I think is loving Monterey more and more.

  • House dinner.
You know, every house dinner I think this is the BEST house dinner ever. Same with last night. It was so damn good. I am spoiled rotten. We had well over twenty people. We had gnocchi and butternut squash raviolis, marinated eggplant sandwiches, two kinds of salad, rolls, cheesy-rice goodness, steaks cut up so everyone could have a peice, ditto some spicy sausage, enough beers for everyone, Shane C. Green wine (as always). And at one point belly laughs that had three people rocking in their chairs and turned one persons face a beautiful shade of hysterical red.
Life is good.

-- hours later --

We went to Pozo for breakfast today. A bunch of us. In waves. Jerm and his pals; me and Steve and Corinna and Shane and Shane's friend Justin in Shane's; and Jeff and his visiting sister and her friend. Out to Pozo. About 15 minutes apart. We all thought maybe we were going the wrong way. We sat out on the big deck and ordered immense amounts of food (the only amount they serve). Eggs, plus meat (or no meat), potatoes, and then either a beef enchilada, humungo cinamon roll, or biscuits and gravy. And orange juice and champagne (for mimosas or just OJ). Drinks are served in mason jars. Flies buzz. Dogs bark. Children toddle. Hugely tall dapple barked trees create dapple leafed shadows. Our food was later than late, but still fun to have House Breakfast outside the house. I searched th net for a pic of the saloon and only found this one. It makes the place look dinky, but it's really quite big.

Pozo Saloon. Put yer dollar on the wall and drink MGD with an olive out of a mason jar. And like it.

George Thorogood will play next Sunday. Gitcher tickets now. Read more about the saloon and see random pictures of San Luis on this web page I found. The amtrack station is right by my house, and also looks much cooler in RL.
